VHF is an essential means to ensure your safety. It’s a way to communicate around you on the water, to call the ports and especially it is the safest way to be identified and located by the rescuers.
Abroad the CRR is mandatory to use a fixed or portable VHF. In some cases, the SRC may be required to rent. It is the indispensable complement to the offshore licence.
The SRC is obtained by passing a MCQ of 24 questions for 25 minutes: 6 questions on the general aspects of marine mobile service, 8 questions on VHF radiotelephone and 10 questions on the practical use of VHF DSC.
